About Me

I moved schools quite a lot as a kid, which meant that I spent a lot of time getting to know new places. I met a lot of people and saw a lot of things, but what persisted was my need to create meaningful connections. This tumultuous social life of mine is a large part of the reason I’m in the Communication Studies program at Wayne State University; I want to truly understand the processes of human connection and communication. Besides that, I am incredibly interested in criminal justice reform. I received my A.S. in Criminal Justice from Schoolcraft College shortly before I transferred to the university, and I am forever grateful for this experience. It was at that point that I truly realized just how ingrained communication is with nearly every field of study.

With my degree, I plan to be an advocate above all. As a shift lead at a gym now, I pride myself on standing up for my crew. Although my power in the organization is limited, I am dedicated to having their issues heard by those above me. I find a lot of pride and excitement in this work; the feeling of making a difference to someone, even a minute one, is addicting. My journey beyond college is hazy, but I know my calling, whether it’s in my professional or personal life, is being an advocate for others.
